Parker MPP motors offer many feedback options including resolver and incremental, single-turn absolute, and multi-turn absolute encoders. Our model nomenclature follows the pattern MPPaaabcdd-xyyz where “dd” is the feedback device parameter, and the Hiperface DSL parameter is “6H.”
The Hiperface DSL device operates at 12-bit multi-turn resolution and 18-bit resolution per turn. One of the primary benefits of using Hiperface DSL is the fact that all feedback data is sent to the drive using only two wires. On top of that, those two wires are bundled with the power cable leaving the user only one cable to run to the drive thereby simplifying the setup process.

Hiperface DSL Specifications
The catalog offers a list of parameters available to the user and their register index to request the data values. The parameter list is summarized in the table below.
Typically, thermal protection data is provided though a dedicated pin (either in the power or feedback cable depending on motor design). The user must then properly connect this wire to the drive to receive motor thermal information. Note, however, that the Hiperface DSL processes the signal from the PTC for the user and sends it through the two-wire feedback connection via a dedicated register (0C1h). This is thanks to the fact that Parker has selected a feedback model that includes a connection for the PTC which further simplifies the setup process.
