How to raise motor speed 590+. Speed loop and Pot control on ANIN 3

Greetings, here i have some motors that i need to equalize the speeds but the parameters all are the same. Some motors run a little faster then others.

I have tried to lower the field current, but no success, tried to raise by little the SPD PROP GAIN and the SPD INT GAIN but no success. Sorry for the bad english. Can I change any parameter on Setpoint Sum, after all the pot works 0 to 10V. Or raise the MAX and MIN DEMAND to order the SETPOINT 1 on SPEED LOOP will say to drive that i need to raise the speed.

Here we use ANALOG TACH for feedback.

Hello Vitor. If your motors are running at slightly different speeds, you might want to try trimming the tachometer calibration. You can do this on the keypad by going to Setup Parameters > Calibration > Analog Tach Cal. This parameter is also available in DSE Lite in the Calibration block (page 2 of any 590+ configuration file).

The Analog Tach Cal is a value between 0.98 and 1.10 that is multiplied by the incoming tachometer signal. If your motor is running a bit too fast, try setting it lower than 1. If your motor is too slow, try going higher than 1. Remember that before doing this, you should verify your tach card's switches are properly configured:

If you want an additional way to trim the speed while the drives are running, you could hook up potentiometers to the A2 terminal on each drive. This input is configured by default as a trim input. I would advise using multiturn pots for finer control.

How different are the speeds on these motors? It sounds like they are already pretty close. Another solution would be to change out the tachometers and tach cards for encoders and encoder cards. This of course is more cost and time, but you would never need to mess with trim values or calibration since encoders are digital.

Hello Daniel. It worked, but now is giving OVER VOLTS (VA) error, by the manual says that the field voltage is badly adjusted, if i raise the SPD. INT. or lower the gain, will gain speed and the current values on field and armature will be the same?

I don't think your issue is related to Speed Loop gains. To me, it sounds like the motor data may not be correct. Questions:

What is your Field Current set to (Configure Drive > Field Current)?

What is your Field Control Mode set to (Setup Parameters > Field Control > Fld. Control Mode)?

When are you getting the Over Volts (VA) fault? Is it happening as soon as you try to run, or does it happen at a particular speed?

Field Current is 8,2A as the manufacture's plate value

Here we use Field Current Control

The error show after i changed the Analog Tach Cal. and increased the speed slowly.

When drive show SPD FEEDBACK ERROR or OVER VOLTS (VA) error is there any way to stop or slow the motor more faster than inertia? The motor that i raised the speed is 110kW and takes much time to zero speed after a error on tests.

This board is very confuse too... On manual says:

"Individual switch values will be included if the switch is set to the right. "

But if you look on the example, the three switches are on the left side.

Other thing is the arrow with ADD marked... Very confuse.

If you need to stop a motor faster than letting it coast, you should be able to do this by turning off the Run input. The motor will be driven to a stop using Setup Parameters > Stop Rates > Stop Time. You can set this value to however long you need. Note that this only works if you have a regenerative (4Q) drive. Regen drives have part numbers starting with "590+" or "955+8R" (i.e. not "591+" or "955+8N").

The diagram is not as clear as it could be. The black square is the switch, so those switches are actually on the right in that diagram.

Hello!

Thanks for the answers... The problem is when we doing the tests to raise the speeds, some drives show SPD FEEDBACK ERROR, or OVER VOLTS (VA), when drive gives faults the motor goes to coast and takes much time to start again... Inertia stop....

Can I do anything to stop motor like PROGRAM STOP?

You could try turning the Run input off and then on again, then turn off the Program Stop input. Or provide a Run signal with a setpoint of 0.
