Servo Motor Hi-Flex Cables

Compumotor offers flexible cable options for the SM, BE and NeoMetric Series brushless servo motors with "MS" or "TQ" style connectors. The part numbers listed below replace standard cables in applications that require continuous flexure of the cable. The motors themselves are simply ordered with the "MS" or "TQ" connector option. Please note that this cable does not feature our standard cable design of yellow jacket and color coding. A connection diagram is shipped with each motor providing pertinent information.

Application Considerations

• Test Conditions
  • travel distance = 18 feet
  • acceleration = varied up to 26 feet/sec2
  • temperature range during test = +10deg C to +22 deg C
  • speed of travel = varied from 6.5 to 13 feet per second

Use of Cable Carriers

• Ensure that there are no twists, bends, or kinks in the cable.

• Lay out the cable for two hours to dissipate any stress from storage, shipping.

• Allow spacing of at least 10% of cable diameter between cables.

• Use separators between cables.

• Do not weave cables amongst other cables.

• Cables must lay loosely and must be able to move freely within carrier.

• Distribute cable weight evenly, heavier cables placed toward the outside of the carrier.

• Do not clamp or tie-wrap cables to carrier itself.

• Cycle carrier several times before tightening cable clamps, external to carrier, to ensure freedom of movement.

• Finally, tighten external cable clamps on both ends to maintain proper cable position within carrier.
