For setting the delay when disabling the drive in the AriesController use parameter C103 - Drive Disable Delay. This will hold the motor current for a delay while the brake engages so in vertical applications position is held. This should be set to the set time of the brake (listed in the motor catalog specifications) or actuator/positioners for brakes on leadscrews.
