- Multiply the value to the left of the decimal by 32 and add the value to the right of the decimal to it.
For example: we will try to determine the TAG NUMBER of DIGITAL OUTPUT 4 so it can be written to in DSE. Presently Digital Output 4 is not available in the DSE template, so it must be written to using a TAG WRITER if it is to be used.- Go to the MMI keypad of the 890 drive.
- Go to SETUP / INPUTS & OUTPUTS / DIGITAL OUTPUT / DIGITAL OUTPUT 4.
- Go to VALUE.
- Keep holding the M key and the PREF parameter will display. It should be 147.01.
- The PREF is determined by the following procedure:
- The PREF is 147.01.
- Take the first value of 147 and multiply it by 32. Thus 147 x 32 = 4704.
- Then add the second value of ".01", which is actually 01 or 1.
- Thus 4704 + 1 = 4705.
- Thus the PREF = 4705.
- Then in DSE go to BLOCK / 890 and select LOGIC WRITER and enter 4705 for TAG NUMBER. In this example since a Digital Output is a Logic value, a Logic Writer is used. Different parameters may be an Integer, Logic or Value.
- In the above example if the PREF was 147.10, then:
- Take the first value of 147 and multiply it by 32. Thus 147 x 32 = 4704.
- Then add the second value of "0.10", which is actually 10.
- Thus 4704 + 10 = 4714.
- Thus the PREF = 4714. You will use this as a TAG NUMBER in DSE.
