On some new Windows 7, Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 machines, Install shield is not able to install the VBA Core files required by InteractX. There may be a message during the install about Install shield not being able to run VBA Core installation that the customer notices or not. It does not interfere with InteractX installing and it masks the issue.
The symptom is that existing applications that have been working will fail to run on the new machine giving a VBA error message and VBA will not be available in development.
To fix the problem, you need the InteractX 4.x install CD files.
Find the following CAB file in the root directory of the IntX Install CD files.
InteractX CD-1 v4.00.2137 KA-83587-400\Intera~1.cab
Extract and run both of the VBA msi install files below by double clicking on the .cab file, then right clicking on the two files and select "extract". Once they are extracted, you just double click the file to launch the MSI installation.
vbaof11.msi
vbaof11i.msi
Once you run the installers, VBA is setup and ready to run. Just open InteractX and VBA will now work.
Do not try to find VBA installers on the web, use only the ones from the cab files. Microsoft does not distribute VBA core file installers and anything you find would not be correct for InteractX and could contain viruses or other unwanted applications.
