Over time, a system's hard drive may fail and need to be replaced, the old hardware dongle may fail, or the internal license device may fail, and Interact X development or runtime may no longer launch or will only launch in a 1 hour demo mode.
One option is to upgrade your development and runtime system to Interact X version 4.0 which only employs a USB based licensing dongle.

NOTE - WE ARE NO LONGER SUPPORTING THE 1.X, 2.X, OR 3.X VERSIONS OF LICENSING. THE ABILITY TO RE-REGISTER EXISTING LICENSES THAT HAVE FAILED OR NEED TO BE MOVED TO A HARD DRIVE FAILURE, ETC IS NO LONGER OFFERED OR SUPPORTED. UPGRADING TO VERISON 4.X IS THE ONLY OPTION OFFERED.
THE INFORMATION BELOW IS FOR ARCHIVAL REFERENCE ONLY AND IS NO LONGER VALID.
Another option is to re-register your existing version. You will need to provide your valid Product Code (would have been provided with the original installation CD's or listed on the touchscreen's label) for us to clear the existing registration and then you can follow these steps to re-register and validate your license.
1. If needed, install the Interact X software in question, either the Development software or the Runtime software. If setting up the Runtime system, you may also need to install the Deployment Server software and then transfer your application into the runtime system.
2. Run the Interact X software and open your application. The first time you do the License Manager software will open up if it does not detect a valid license.
Note - If it does not come up automatically, you can get to the License Manager by:
a. For a runtime system - selecting the Deployment Server icon properties ( right mouse click the gray circle with a black circle inside of it) in the Windows system tray and select properties. Then click on the 'Configure' button under InteractX Licensing.
b. For a development system - opening your application for editing will generally open the License Manager software dialog.
3. Click the button "Display Hardware Code" and record what that number is for use later. This is a number that is unique to the PC that you have Interact X installed on. This number is also time sensitive so you'll want to complete the registration process within about 24 hours of generating the hardware code or you'll need to come back and generate a 'fresh' one.
4. Now go to the website (using a web browser - MUST BE Internet Explorer - other browsers like Chrome won't work)
http:\\ctcusa.com\registerinteractx
5. Select 'Purchased license' and click Next.
6. Fill in all of the information fields as best you can. Hardware code is the number you record after getting it from your local installation (step 3 above) and go through all the 'steps' and finally click the Submit button. If you get any errors then go back and correct the mistake. Make sure you enter the correct Hardware Code, Product Code, and your valid email address.
7. A new enable code will be emailed to the email address you entered (step 6 above). Take this Enable Code from the email and enter it back into the License Manager software and click the 'Validate' button. You should now be ready to go.
NOTE: If for some reason, the license manager says it was successful but the one hour runtime comes back after booting, see the following FAQ to see how to re-install the license manager before doing anything else to the unit. There is likely a problem with the manager that needs fixed before generating a working license.
