This FAQ assumes you have all of the small components that come with the 1002-00 part number for some potential reasons mentioned below. Parts that come with the 1002-00 part number and information on the module are below:
Important Notes:
- Verify the firmware version of the drive. Parameter F105 is the firmware version. It is important to know if you can use DSELite, and to know the template version to use later on. It is not possible to flash firmware on an AC10 in the field.
- Firmware compatible with DSELite:
- IP20 Frames 1-5 with firmware 2.00, 2.27, 2.31 or later
- IP20 Frames 6-12 with firmware 3.27 and 3.31 or later
- IP66 All Frames: 4.27 and 4.31 or later
- The module requires +5V: The serial converter will be plugged into a PC during operation, your PC is capable of supplying this +5V signal with, or without, the AC10 powered via it's own AC mains.
- If your AC10 has a green serial terminal you may connect the module directly into the drive (and the cable can be used to extend it, as shown below, if horizontal space next to the drive is limited). Old models of the IP20 drives, that were less than 22Kw, may not have a green serial port. If this is the case, you will be to use the AC10 module as the other port is only used for external keypad use. You must manually take note of all parameters being used to reprogram your new drive.
- Several parameters in the drive must temporarily be set to default values (and then changed back to application-dependent values after loading them into the new drive).

Connecting the tool as a serial converter with DSELite:
Wiring the tool to the PC and AC10:
- AC mains is not required
Setup Computer COM Port in DSELite:
- Verify the COM port being used on the PC via device manager
- Launch DSE Lite
- Make sure the device is plugged in before doing so. DSELite scans its communication ports at startup.
- Go to the COM port Icon
- Make certain the AC10 Support is selected
- Make certain the Baud is set to AUTO
- Make certain the correct COM port is selected
- Once selected, you should see the scratchpad display the last line (click for clarity):
Using DSELite:
- Open an AC10 template that matches your drive frame, and firmware version (see the above picture).
- The pre-baked template variant does not matter here. When you extract into any template with step 2, it will overwrite the template you have open.
- Command -> Extract Drive Parameters will extract your configuration and parameters into the template, and overwrite it
- You must have an AC10 template open that matches your drive frame, and firmware version
- Command -> Install will install your configuration and parameters into the drive (you will need to implement motor data and run an autotune if in SLV mode).
- Command -> Full install is only used when you are installing into an identical AC10 that the configuration was originally extracted from; as it installs frame dependent information.
- When using DSELite and a parameter is changed while in the On Line Mode (Command -> Online), the parameter will automatically be saved.
- If you want a list of the Modbus Registers do a File / Document and at the end of the document there will be Parameters by Register (Modbus)
