READING MOTOR PARAMETERS FROM MPP/MPJ SERVO MOTORS WITH THE NEW 4B OPTION BISS-C ENCODER INTO DRIVE SUPPORT TOOL (DST)
The MPP/MPJ series motors are now available with the 4B option, which is the BiSS-C multi-turn absolute encoder with lower price than previous generation EnDat.
The BiSS-C encoders are compatible with the IPA servo drive controller, new ACR7000 multi-axis servo and the P series drives.
Note when using Drive Support Tool software, default motor parameters are loaded. To upload from the motor/encoder into DST, click the bottom at the motor screen.
These values are hard-coded into the P series drive firmware based on the Motor ID and the P series drive will need firmware 2.01 for use with the MPP with the 4B option.
Drives' firmwares can be updated in the field using Parker Drive Support Tool version 0.88 available here.
(Note there is an issue with DST 0.85 when upgrading to 2.01. Use DST 0.88!)
