NOTE: The Parker Remote Browser uses an up to date custom Flash Player specifically licensed to Parker Hannifin for our products that utilize Flash applications. It is not intended for and can not be used with other Flash Player products.
There are some old versions of Xpress running on XPR and XPR2 HMIS that were written under early versions of Flash Player that may experience issues when accessed by the new Parker Remote Browser just due to the multitude of changes in Flash Player over the years.
Some examples of what you may encounter are: Screen loads but can not activate buttons. The display size selection menu comes up over the screen instead of below the defined screen area. Breaks in the display area with ASCII Characters etc...
In this case, upgrade to Xpress 3.1 which is the last version of Xpress for the XPR/XPR2 Family of HMIs. To do this, you use the Xpress 4.2 with the new Parker Flash Player embedded. It can be used to edit and upgrade all past versions of Xpress applications and save files in older versions than 4.2
During an upgrade from the earliest versions, there were fixes to Xpress that require upgrading in steps to avoid issues in the upgraded project. Follow the steps in the FAQ below that walks through upgrading old projects to 3.1 for XPR/XPR2 and 4.1 for XTA HMIs.
Upgrading old projects to 3.1 for XPR/XPR2 or 4.1 for XTA
Once the project is upgraded to 3.1 or 4.1 and you have a backup of your original project, you need to update the Firmware version of the XPR/XPR2 to 3.1
Updating Firmware on Xpress HMIs
Now you can download the upgraded Xpess project to the XPR/XPR2 running the Xpress 3.1 firmware.
After the versions are all 3.1, the Parker Remote Browser will be able to display the screens as intended.
