The P Series Indexer Drives (PD-04P, PD-10P, PD-35P) have a feature called Velocity Command Switch Select.
This feature applies to the Velocity Mode (configured by Control Mode object 0x3000 = 2) and allows an application to either control the velocity of the motor from the analog velocity command input (A-OVR) OR via digital inputs that will select from pre-defined velocity levels.
Object 0x231A (Velocity Command Switch Select) can be configured 4 different ways. See this table from the user guide.
Set Value of 0 = velocity is only controlled by the analog command input (A-OVR), regardless of whether any digital inputs are defined as SPDx functions.
Set Value of 3 = velocity is only controlled via the inputs defined as SPD1, SPD2, and SPD3 per this table (also from the user guide)
Note - if there are not the correct SPDx inputs defined, the indexer will use an 'inactive' for that lacking bit in the table. (so if no SPDx inputs are defined, it will use Speed Command 1)
Set Value of 1 = allows velocity control from the SDPx inputs and your pre-defined velocity levels OR from the analog command input (A-OVR) If both SDP1 and SDP2 are active, control will be from the analog command input (A-OVR) and not the pre-defined velocity levels.
If SPD1 and SPD2 are both inactive, then Speed Command 1 (0x2312) is commanded.
If SPD1 is active and SPD2 is inactive, then Speed Command 2 (0x2313) is commanded.
If SPD1 is inactive and SPD2 is active, then Speed Command 3 (0x2314) is commanded.
If SPD1 and SPD2 are both active, then velocity is only controlled by the analog command input (A-OVR) instead of Speed Command 4 (0x2315).
Note - if there are not the correct SPDx inputs defined, the indexer will use an 'inactive' for that lacking bit in the table. (so if no SPDx inputs are defined, it will use Speed Command 1)
Set Value of 2 = allows velocity control from the SDPx inputs and your pre-defined velocity levels OR from the analog command input (A-OVR) If both SDP1 and SDP2 and SPD3 are active, control will be from the analog command input (A-OVR) and not the pre-defined velocity levels.
If SPD1 and SPD2 and SPD3 are all inactive, then Speed Command 1 (0x2312) is commanded.
If SPD1 is active and SPD2 and SPD3 are inactive, then Speed Command 2 (0x2313) is commanded.
If SPD1 is inactive and SPD2 is active and SPD3 is inactive, then Speed Command 3 (0x2314) is commanded.
If SPD1 and SPD2 are active and SPD3 is inactive, then Speed Command 4 (0x2315) is commanded.
If SPD1 and SPD2 are inactive and SPD3 is active, then Speed Command 5 (0x2316) is commanded.
If SPD1 is active and SPD2 is inactive and SPD3 is active, then Speed Command 6 (0x2317) is commanded.
If SPD1 is inactive and SPD2 and SPD3 are active, then Speed Command 7 (0x2318) is commanded.
If SPD1 and SPD2 and SPD3 are all active, then velocity is only controlled by the analog command input (A-OVR) instead of Speed Command 8 (0x2319).
Note - if there are not the correct SPDx inputs defined, the indexer will use an 'inactive' for that lacking bit in the table. (so if no SPDx inputs are defined, it will use Speed Command 1)
