How do I power an ARIES with 3 phase?

Print Friendly and PDF

TWO LINES TO SUPPLY 230VAC

The Aries amplifiers (100 to 1300 watt sizes - AR-01xx through AR-13xx) are designed to take single phase 230 VAC. If you only have 3 phase, you can use any 2 of the phases to supply the ARIES, also connecting the protective earth ground.

The drive will full-wave rectify the incoming AC voltage and through the bridge place 325vdc on the bus (230 vac * 1.414 = 325vdc). If the voltage is 208vac, the bus voltage is 294vdc and the maximum top speed would be decreased. The max speed for the motor is the bus voltage divided by the motor's voltage constant (V/krpm).
