Maximum USB Cable Length

Print Friendly and PDF
The ACR9000 controller follows the guidelines for cable length defined in the USB2.0 specification. Maximum cable length is five meters or approximately 16.5 feet.

USB "Cable Repeaters" and USB hubs can be used to extend the range to up to 80 feet.

If you need to place the PC more more than 16.5 feet away we recommend that Ethernet communication be used instead. Ethernet allows for cable lengths up to 100 meters without the the need to use hubs/switches.
