Detent torque is the amount of torque that must be applied to a motor to overcome the static (magnetic) equilibrium of the motor when it is in an unpowered state of rest.
For Dynaserv motors this value is typically 3-5% of the peak torque value of the Dynaserv motor in question.
For example: The peak torque value for a Dynaserv DM1004B motor is rated at 3 ft-lb. Therefore, the detent torque will be 3 to 5 percent of this peak value, resulting in a detent torque value of 0.10 to
0.15 ft-lbs.
