Hello, I have this kind of problem.
PAC Motion version 1.3 (received with this firmware version . never updated).
3 drives connected in Ethercat fieldbus. 1 virtual encoder.
Ethercat task: External, EVENT_ECM_DC, interval time 1ms
Additional task cyclic 100ms.
The system works fine. Average task time 250us. max 800us.
When I try to connect to the devce with PAC Configurator or Visualizazion using web browser
Ethercat task time goes up to over 8 ms and I have a errorstop because Lost of Synchronicity.
Someone has already found the same problem?
Good morning Nico,
I have not seen this specific type of problem occur before. Generally, when we get a report about a loss of synchronicity over EtherCAT, there are three main causes we investigate:
If you see your task time spike specifically when accessing WebVis or PAC Configuration Tool (PCT), then I think Modbus might be the issue since it also needs to use the network hardware. This makes the Modbus bus cycle time a little longer and ends up severely impacting the EtherCAT_Master task. The same thing can happen if you are using any TCP or UDP communication function blocks within the EtherCAT_Master task as their execution time is subject to variance based on network conditions.
If your PAC is using Modbus, try this:
