Symptom: IX/PCA Image Revision D
Windows reports hard drive full but when looking in Windows Explorer there are no files visible taking up that much space. It appears that there should be about half the drive free. This will cause logging to stop since there is no space to log new data, InteractX applications can fail when they can no longer create necessary temporary files during runtime.
Investigating this issue in IX/PCA Image Revision D, we have discovered that the latest version of Acronis True Image recently added to the Windows 7 64bit images for the IX / PCA changes the Windows Restore Point settings in Windows. It changes the default Restore Point Hard Drive Max Usage to 100%.
Since Windows Restore Points are hidden, the problem does not show up until the units have been running a sufficient period of time for the restore points to exceed available storage space.
At this time, engineering is working on a new hard drive image for Windows 7 64bit which has several Windows updates and will have the maximum disk space turned down or off (not sure at this point which) that will address this problem.
In the mean time, if this issue occurs, it has a simple solution to recover the drive space used by the restore points.
In Windows, Go to the "Control Panel" then Open the "System" page,
In the System screen. select "System Protection" which brings up the "Protection Settings" display. Go into the "Configure restore settings, manage disk space and delete restore points."
Drag the slider to the left and it will free up drive space used by the "hidden" system restore points.
Reboot after changing the settings to finalize any pending Windows actions.
