Thermal switch specifications

Print Friendly and PDF

Motors of any type take some input power (whether electrical, chemical, or some other form) to generate mechanical power. This mechanical power conversion process generates heat as a byproduct, and the collection of this heat is often referred to as thermal build up. Without proper controls or monitoring, thermal build up can reach a level that damages the motor. Thermal switches and thermistors allow automated systems to sense the temperature levels within a motor.

Below are references to the thermal sensors used in each of our servo motors and links to their datasheets.
