This error is triggered when one of two internal temperature sensors (one being located on the amplifier board, the other on the DSP board) detects an ambient temperature exceeding 55C (or 65C for the –H20n and –H40n), creating a latched fault. This results in the drive killing power to the motor, the left indicator LED on the Gemini illuminating RED, and the fault output is enabled.
1) Issue a DRIVE1 command to clear the fault. Ensure that the area surrounding Gemini drive facilitates proper air ventilation. If the ambient temperature in the area of the drive is excessive due to external heat sources, take precautions to reduce this heat (by installing fans, etec.).
2) Check the installation of the Gemini against the EMC Installation guidelines in the Hardware Installation Guide. There have been cases where this has been caused by electrical noise. A custom operating system version can be requested that disables this error bit. However, the risk is taken by the user that the drive is no longer protected against over-heating.
